October 12, 1998
Approximately 40 people attended the October 12 community meeting
at Blue Ridge High School. The introduction to the process and
the discussion were held in the auditorium. Planning Commission
staff members recorded over 40 specific suggestions. These include:
- Improving emergency services to serve the dispersed population
of Blue Ridge/ Northern Greenville County;
- Establishing greater controls over locations of mobile homes and
parks to prevent their proliferation;
- Giving unincorporated areas greater voice and consideration in
Greenville County; and
- Discouraging over-development of by-passes, which restricts traffic
flow and defeats their intended purpose.
