October 8, 1998

Approximately 35 people attended the October 8 community meeting at Hillcrest High School. The introduction to the process and the discussion were held in the auditorium. Planning Commission staff members recorded over 75 specific suggestions. These include:

  • Creating park and ride lots to provide access into downtown Greenville;

  • Upgrading access at the Harrison Bridge Road interchange with I-385 to both a northbound and southbound on-ramp;

  • Developing a network of bike paths to connect nearby subdivisions;

  • Encouraging preservation of rail lines into Greenville as possible future greenway/bike path; and

  • Creating at-large members of County Council to be advocates for county-wide issues.
