October 27, 1998

Approximately 30 people attended the October 27 community meeting at Mauldin High School. The introduction to the process was held in the auditorium. One break-out group was held in a classroom. Planning Commission staff members recorded over 30 specific suggestions. These include:

  • Acquire road rights of way prior to commercial and residential development of an area (i.e., Woodruff Road);

  • Encourage development of a greenway system linking neighborhoods with adjoining commercial;

  • Mandate that infrastructure be in place prior to new development being permitted; and

  • Require sidewalks in all new subdivisions.
