November 18, 1998

Approximately 60 people attended the November 18 community meeting at Northwest Middle School. The introduction to the process was held in the cafeteria/auditorium. Two break-out groups were held. Planning Commission staff members recorded over 50 specific suggestions. These include:

  • The rural water lines should have hydrants added as growth expands;

  • Senior Day Care facilities are a critical need;

  • Discourage or prohibit growth and development in flood plains and preserve green space;

  • Preserve trees along major thoroughfares; and

  • Would like to see zero growth until more sheriff patrols are available.
