October 22, 1998

Approximately 30 people attended the October 22 community meeting at Woodmont High School. The introduction to the process was held in the auditorium. One break-out group was held in a classroom. Planning Commission staff members recorded over 25 specific suggestions. These include:

  • Traffic signals along Highway 25 at Woodmont High School, Ellen Woodside Elementary School, Highway 76, and Georgia Road;
  • Critical need for the substandard housing code to be enforced; and
  • The community encourages additional community facilities, specifically the following:
-additional EMS station(s) to reduce response time

-additional fires stations to improve response time

-increased sheriff’s patrols.
